Who I Am

After I became a Christian, I wanted to use my gifts from God that he so graciously gave me and bring glory to his name.  This was done in several ways; I’ll give two.

Being a carpenter, one of the first things I made was what I call the “Passion Table” inspired from the movie “The Passion of the Christ” by Mel Gibson.  From the movie, the scene was that Jesus built a table and was talking with his mother Mary about it.  Mary suggested to Jesus that it would never catch on (a table with legs) along with other passing comments with one another.  Most people don’t give this table a second look but I took notice.

I was inspired to build this table after looking through a book that my wife gave me about the movie.  Construction of the table soon began.

I built the tables (more than a dozen in all) and gave them away mostly to churches or charity auctions.  Most all of the churches that were given a table use it during their communion service.  After I built enough tables, the making of Bible verse plaques was and is now my latest project.

At first, I typed up a Bible verse on a regular piece of paper and glued it to a plain wooden board.  Without going into the whole progression of my making the plaques, I have what is now the way you see it today.  I have several more ideas for the plaques, but I will hold off on that for now.
